Sound Design Feature #1: TheBuzz (commercial design)

Working with 41st Casanova Productions, My Lady On Fire Studio, and HoneyTrain Music Services, Dennis Shafer produced this set of videos, which can be viewed at thebuzzboston.com

Dennis also performs in these videos as a saxophonist.

Sound Design Feature #2: RendrGram (art design)

Dennis Shafer’s NYC-based group, RendrGram, designed projection with music onto large-scale sculpture, in particular with a 17-ft tall pyramid, projecting onto the scrim of the sides of the pyramid. This was in collaboration with over 10 other artists who contributed sound design, architectural work and building, scrim design, projection mapping, and live-interactivity.

Sound Design Feature #3: Instructional Videos (educational design)

In the music education business, as things have moved primarily to online instruction due to COVID19, Dennis Shafer has adapted and produced these videos for himself and his music instructors on Artists’ Row in Salem, MA at SalemLessons.com

This production was in collaboration with 41st Casanova Productions.

Sound Design Feature #4: Student Performances in Quarantine (educational design)

As part of ChagallPAC’s collaboration with The Phoenix School, Dennis Shafer produced a series of videos for The Phoenix School for the school’s graduation. It involved synching the voices of all the students together to make it appear like they all performed together in a ‘Zoom’-like atmosphere.

SalemLessons gave a Summer Media Lab online on how to make these videos, and you can see one of the student artifacts here.
